Almost Socrates

I am reading Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver. In the book, one of the characters writes a letter to another and she says, 'I've always found people love you best if you can laugh at your own foolish misfortunes and keep mum about everyone else's.

A great philosophy to live by. Could even explain why I am such a hit at parties!

I have no problem laughing at my own misfortunes, but I have a hard time with the second part. Good advice. I have no doubt that you are the hit of a party!

We will find out Sunday when I am hosting an Easter gathering for mostly musicians. The head count should be between 4 - 14. If you're in the neighborhood we should have some great food!
