Help Me Out Here

I colored my hair again. Auburn, black, and blue. With a little untouched blond thrown in for the heck of it.

I expected to get some looks. Along with smiles (hopefully). But I was surprised by the anger. Why would anyone get angry about someone's hair color?

Even more astounding was the coworker's pierced, tattooed, shaved head husband who asked about me, "What was she thinking?"

I don't get it. If you could explain it to me internet, I would be forever grateful.
