Mr. Livingstone, I Presume?

The effect of seeing all those explorers yesterday pushed me into doing a bit of it myself. Yup, into the attic I went. Okay, I didn't make the actual trip but I did ask Fuchsia to find my winter clothes while she was up there.

It took some searching but she finally found 3 full containers (but alas, no Mr. Livingstone). She told me that was a sign I had way too many clothes but I told her it was just because sweaters are so bulky they take up a lot of room.

And I believed that line myself until I started washing them. Load after load. I filled all 3 of my clotheslines and had enough left that I had to stick some straight into the dryer.

Now I am trying to figure out just where I am going to put them. Fuchsia and I filled 2 garbage bags for goodwill, I rearranged (crammed) Bassman's clothes into one cubby (he doesn't need all that room. That's what suitcases are for, right?), and I still have overflow.

It may be time to go to the local department store and buy an(other) underbed storage box. Which I will fill, push under the bed, and promptly forget.

Until next spring when it is time to get the 3 boxes of summer clothes back out and the cycle will repeat itself once more.

Hey, I'm nothing if not predictable.

I actually like this change of clothes for the season. I get a rid of a lot of stuff. Finally have it down to one small container of stuff that won't fit in drawers or closet so off to the cottage it goes. Trying to work it down to not even that. One way to make that happen would be to let winter weight catch me, and then I won't be able to fit in stuff!!

Hmm. I'm pretty sure winter weight has already sunk its hooks in me. About 15 summers ago.

Reminds me of the George Carlin bit about buying a house, then a bigger house, you know, just to keep your STUFF. :)
