Beware?

Today is the Ides of March. While it wasn't a good day for Caesar, I had no such problems. Bassman offered to chauffeur me around so I could do some photogrificating and I jumped on the offer.

I knew I wanted to get near the Uncomphagre River at some point so I checked the local map for access points. There was one down by the end of Chipeta Road. We hopped in the car and headed out.

Before we were very far down Chipeta Bassman noticed a sign for Cerise Park and asked me if I wanted to check it out. Of course!

Right now, this town. like most every 0ther town in America, doesn't have much cash in its coffers. From the looks of the park, this was not always the case. Picnic tables, benches, sculpture, and paved walkways abound.

I can't wait to see this when it all turns green!

Apparently we took all the correct turns as we did eventually wind up at the 'River'. Just a bit smaller than the Mississippi.

We strolled back to the car (I was a bit winded. We'll call it altitude problems and leave it at that) and headed further down Chipeta. We didn't get too far before Bassman noticed a sign for a cemetery. We had to check to see if it was the one visible behind Home Depot. Up the hill we went.

Grand View Cemetery. Holy cow, what an absolutely perfect name.

There are so many times out here when my brain can't process all the grandeur. It is so beautiful it still brings me to tears.

But if that's all the danger I have to face on this Ides, I am a very lucky girl indeed.

They also have a rose garden where you can have your ashes scattered.
