Bassman and I tied the knot on December 20, uh... 1987. Odd time of year, isn't it? I know you are all wondering why we chose that time of year and I have to tell you, there was no 'we' choosing. Bassman made all these secret plans and was going to tell me we were going to my dad's for dinner (my father performed the ceremony) but then three days before the big event he decided he had better tell me what was up just in case I said no once we were at Father and Sandy's. I had just enough time to ask a few people if they would like to come ( once they learned they were getting almost as much notice as I had they calmed down). The big day came, the ceremony was performed, and after a small but wonderful reception, Bassman and I headed off to Dunkin' Donuts to share the remainder of our wedding cake with all the drunks that were hanging out there.
This year, Bassman spent most of the 20th on an airplane trying to get home. He flew into Cincinnati (a first for both of us) and his plane landed at 9:00 p.m. A bit late but we were still hoping we could go out for a nice romantic dinner before beginning the 3 hour drive home.
Which is exactly what we did.
At Hooter's. The only place open that time of night.
We agreed that it was the universe's way of reminding us of our beginnings.
So here's to another 20 some year ride with the only co-pilot I could ever imagine. After all, there are still a lot of Dunkin' Donuts and Hooter's that we haven't been to.

My wife and I ran into an ice storm (believe it or not, an in ice storm in Texas) on the way to San Antonio for our honeymoon and ended up spending our honeymoon night at a Motel 6, then heading to my mom's for the remainder of our trip.
Our first anniversary dinner was at Braum's (something like a Dairy Queen). Our second anniversary was at Catfish King.
I'm right there with you. :)
Love this post. Perfect!
Thank you both. Not only for the comments but also for sticking with me on this blog.
Hooters! LOL What a great reminder.
Misfit,
I personally look forward to your daily photo and periodic postings.
Also, many of my family members read your blog also. I know for sure my mom and my sister do.
Keep up the good work!
Sally - Welcome!
Aaron - Once again you made my day!
