Home For the Holidays

It has been 3 years since I have been home for Christmas. That means it has been that long since I dragged my decorations out of the attic and set them up. This year, however, the Cutest Toddler in the World's mom told me that they were not going to have any decorations at their house and it was up to me to provide the 'Lampoon Christmas Extravaganza' she was hoping for. I had a mission.

I had forgotten just how much stuff I had that was Christmas themed. It was overwhelming when I peeked my head up there. I called in reinforcements.

Two of the neighbor boys came over to shuttle boxes down the narrow stairs. Box after box was handed down until my living room was completely filled (they did leave a spot on the sofa but only because there was a cat napping there). It was close to overwhelming.

Of course, after 3 years of not seeing any of the stuff, it was also close to a major shopping spree! So many things that I had forgotten I had! Some good, some not so good, and a ton of items just chock full of memories.

It took me 3 days to get everything put up. I'll admit, some of the things went back into the attic where they will probably remain for at least another 3 years or until I die at which point it will be up to the kids to sort them out.

I am as decorated as I am going to get. The Christmas linens are on the beds, Santa towels hang in the bathrooms, red and green tablecloths on any surface large enough to handle them, the village on the mantle, and COLORED LIGHTS everywhere I could put them.

On to the holiday baking!

You go girl! Looking very festive there. I've just been putting things out one at a time, very slow. Have yet to get a tree.

Have a blast with the WCT!

I have 2 Christmas Painted Ponies and one that isn't.
Bassman bought me a horse ornament for our anniversary (the 20th). You can never have too many horse ornaments!
