Odds & Ends

I finished Until I Find You. Finally. All 820 pages. It took me a month (Kinda'. I read another book in the middle of that time.).

I used to read John Irving all the time. When a new book came out, I was the first to buy it. Then he got a bit boring. It was the same old, same old. Nothing special.

Oh, I wanted him to entertain me again. I kept hoping. Unfortunately, he let me down a few too many times and I gave up on him.

However, one night I was sitting in an airport waiting for the Bassman and this book was in the bookstore. It looked like it had potential so I gave it a try.

I am glad I did. Yes, some of it was typical Irving (strong woman who is not particularly likeable, a wrestling son, Toronto) but, and here is the catch, he made me laugh! It's not what I would call a comedy by any stretch but any book that can make me laugh out loud is okay by me.

Another thing that can make me laugh out loud? THE BASSMAN!
